Vouchercodes.co.uk has announced the appointment of Claire Davenport as its new GM and VP for its business in the UK.
She told Mobile Marketing that investing in its technology will be key for success this year. “As the volume of traffic we receive from smartphones continues to grow unabated, investing in our mobile offering is going to be a hugely important part of our 2014 strategy.
“Smartphones provide an ideal mechanism for delivering vouchers and deals to consumers, but to stay ahead of our competitors we need to ensure we not only have the best offers, but the best technology platforms to deliver them,” she said.
Parent company RetailMeNot has recently trialled geofencing within its US shopping app, with plans to bring the same tech to the UK. “We’re very focused on building out opportunities to create in-store transaction opportunities for retailers from online and mobile traffic, helping bricks and mortar merchants take advantage of consumer trends. A good example of this is geofencing,” Davenport said.
“This technology has the capacity to truly disrupt traditional in-store marketing channels and we’re incredibly excited at the prospect of offering this and several other smart tech solutions to our UK retail partners later this year.”
She said the company will also be making significant improvements to its app and responsive website, in order to offer the best experience to its users. The company currently has 7m people registered in the UK and Davenport is overseeing the development of its new online, mobile and in-store offerings.
