Asset management firm Thesis is enjoying secure mobile email and recorded client conversations following the deployment of VoxRecord, a bespoke voice recording application for BlackBerry smartphones.
The firm deployed the mobile voice recording application to comply with the Government’s policy that investment firms must keep a record of all telephone and electronic communications. While the regulation currently only applies to fixed-line communications, Thesis rolled out VoxRecord on BlackBerry smartphones to pre-empt its anticipated extension to incorporate mobile calls.
The VoxRecord application, developed by BlackBerry Alliance Program member Voxsmart, automatically records calls made to or from the investment managers’ and senior executives’ BlackBerry phones. In addition, access to mobile email has enabled employees to provide reliable client service, while ensuring confidential client communications are kept secure.
“We were looking for a proven solution that would comply with regulatory requirements and let investment managers make and receive calls as they would do normally,” says Thesis operations manager, David Dudley. “Recording our telephone conversations on BlackBerry smartphones enables us to show to our staff, our clients and our regulators that we’re meeting the high governance standards that we set for ourselves.”
