Walking charity Ramblers has launched a mobile version of its magazine. The Walk magazine offers walking routes, gear advice, and information on the latest ramblers campaigns and events.
Digital readers can enjoy additional content, and photography, and the charity says that video will be available through the app later this year.
Walk editor, Dominic Bates says: “We see the launch of the app as an opportunity to reach the wider walking community, and as a tool to expand upon the great work Ramblers volunteers around the country do.”
The Ramblers print magazine and the content for the new digital versions are put together by customer publishing firm The River Group. The companys head of digital, Natasha Jackson, says: We are immensely proud of the work we do for the Ramblers. The mobile and tablet app allows us to reach a whole new audience to support the leading walking charity in the UK.”
The app is available for iOS and Android devices, and is also available on the www.pocketmags.co.uk digital publishing platform. It costs £2.19.
