Wappy Birthday to You

Carol_phoneUK company Remind4u.com has launched a greetings card service for mobile phone users which enables them to send personalised greeting cards to friends and familys mobile phones. The company has signed exclusive deals with several brands, including BBCs Top Gear show and Fulham Football Club, to offer themed cards to its mobile customers.
The service is being fronted by multi-talented TV celebrity Carol Vorderman, who is also a shareholder in the company. It is aimed mainly at younger users and is designed to be easy to use. Customers simply log on to Remind4us website and select a card from a diverse range of styles and themes, which can then be personalised with a message, before being sent to a friends phone. If the recipient does not have a WAP-enabled phone, they will receive a text alerting them to the card, which can then be viewed online.
Anyone with a WAP-enabled phone with access to the mobile Internet can receive a personalised card which they can save and keep as wallpaper or screensaver. Cards cost 3 each and customers are charged via their mobile phone bills.
Remind4u.com was set up two years ago by Miles Clee and Richard Pepper and today has 46,000 active customers using its customised greetings card postal service.
“More and more people are embracing text messaging technology, which has become an essential communication tool, particularly for younger mobile phone users,” says Clee. “Sending a customised greetings card to someones phone is therefore a great way to let people on the move know that you are thinking about them, especially if you have missed the post!”
