Waze adds in-app audio player supporting Pandora, Deezer, iHeartRadio, and more

Waze Audio PlayerWaze has introduced a built-in audio player to its crowdsourced navigation app to deliver podcasts, audiobooks, radio, and news to users without having to leave the app.

Along with the launch Waze Audio Player, the Google-developed app has teamed up with seven new audio partners – including Pandora, Deezer, iHeartRadio, NPR One, Scribd, Stitcher, and TuneIn. The new partnerships build on the partnership which Waze formed with Spotify back in March 2017, where the pair agreed to integrate each other’s platforms with each other.

To gain access to an audio app via Waze, users must have the latest version of their third-party app of choice and then sync this app with Waze by tapping the icon for the audio app in the Waze Audio Player and selecting ‘connect’.

The audio player has been rolled out to the members of Waze’s beta community. Pandora, iHeartRadio, NPR, Stitcher, Scribd, and TuneIn are all available to beta members using the Android version of the Waze app, while iHeartRadio, Deezer, Stitcher, and Scribd are available to those on iOS. The audio player will begin rolling out to all Waze users through the end of the year.
