Weekly Highlights: PayPal, Instagram and More

shutterstock_114893179Welcome back to our round up of the most interesting stories you might have missed on the site this week.

And its been another busy few days, as Qualcomm entered the wearables race with its Toq smartwatch, Google introduced a physical card as part of its digital wallet, and Instagram finally launched its app on Windows Phone – without video or even an in-app camera.

Of course, the biggest news for us this week has been the relaunch of this very website. Have a look around and let us know what you think. Its all part of an effort to bring you more in-depth analysis and features.

And in that vein, our very first review went up today, looking at Adsy – a platform for creating web apps right on your mobile device. Kirsty Styles found it quick and easy to use, and reckon it could be the app creator answer to Vine or Instagram.

We also took a look at Here, PayPals first piece of hardware. The mPOS device is part of the companys attempt to help bring digital into bricks-and-mortar stores, and its stepping into a crowded space – but could the PayPal name help convince consumers its the one to trust? Find out here.

Well be back on Monday, when the new site has settled in, and the weekly roundup will return next Friday – but, in the spirit of relaunching, with a whole new format. Join us next week to find out more.
