Japanese people are the most heavy media users in the world, while the UK leads Europe in terms of mobile social networking.
These are just some of the stats on mobile phone usage gathered from Pew and the UN and compared by mobile operator Lebara for an infographic. The company breaks down mobile phone usage across the world, including ownership, calls, social media and growth over 10 years.
Brits are joined by other social nations like Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt, but just one per cent of people in China use social networks on their handset.
Although calls are more widely used than SMS in every region, Mexicans used their phones to text more than to make phone calls. See below for more.
