WhatsApp has launched a feature for businesses to make easier for consumers to learn more about their products and services. Catalogs provide a mobile storefront for businesses to show off what they have to offer.
In the past, businesses had to send product photos of products one at a time and provide information each time. Now, customers are able to see the business’ full catalog from within the Facebook-owned messaging app.
Businesses are able to add information for each product in their catalog, including price, description, and product code. The catalogs are also hosted by WhatsApp, meaning storage space is saved on both the devices of businesses and customers.
The catalog feature is available today for businesses using the WhatsApp Business app on Android and iPhone in Brazil, Germany, India, Indonesia, Mexico, the UK and the US. WhatsApp promises to roll the feature out across the rest of the world ‘soon.
