WhatsApp has launched voice messaging for users across iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Nokia and Windows Phone.
Although this doesnt go as far as services like Skype and Viber that offer free OTT calls, the company has constantly re-iterated its product, ensuring it earns its $0.99 price tag – after the free trial of course.
This change could be particularly useful for people using the service in countries where the language is more difficult to type on a smartphone.
The company has created an FAQ section on its website to ensure all users can make use of the function after the app has updated. The record button replaces the send button in the bottom right corner, which users simply hold to record a voice message. Users could already record and attach audio using WhatsApp, but this makes audio messaging a key part of the platform for all.
