Apple is rumoured to be creating its own Bluetooth-connected watch after huge demand for products like the KickStarter-funded Pebble watch and the iWatchz iPod Nano watchstrap. TGBUS, a Chinese news site, has said that has said that the chips for the device will be provided by Intel and it will be available in the first half of 2013.
Like most of Apple’s ‘innovations’, someone else has already got there before them. Sony’s SmartWatch is Bluetooth-enabled, but does not allow wearers to answer calls using their watch, which TGBUS claims will be possible using the new Apple watch, with the help of Siri.
Meanwhile the Pebble watch, which already has 85,000 pre-orders, works with either Android or iPhone handsets connected via Bluetooth and comes with internet-connected apps.
