WIN Plc, which specialises in interactive mobile entertainment and information, has developed a Guardian Jobs WAP site for Guardian News & Media. The site, which is live now, enables users to search the Guardian Jobs mobile website (www.guardianjobs.mobi) on any Internet-enabled mobile handset.
WIN says that users of the Guardian Jobs WAP site will benefit from being able to browse jobs and request further information to be sent immediately to them via email, reducing the risk of the perfect job slipping by unnoticed. In turn, employers will experience significant time reductions in the recruitment process. Using mobile as a platform will also enable them to reach a broader audience of candidates. The site can be accessed with an initial simple text trigger, which will automatically deliver the site to the users mobile phone.
We have enjoyed a long and healthy partnership with Guardian News & Media, and are delighted to be able to further strengthen the relationship with the development of the Guardian Jobs WAP site, says WIN CEO, Graham Rivers. This is a further example of the media industry recognising the power of the mobile to deliver news and information to audiences as soon as it is published.
Nigel Bicknell, Head of Commercial Development, Guardian Recruitment Solutions says: This WAP site provided by WIN enables an entirely new channel for us to advertise jobs for our customers and users. Demand for information on the mobile is increasing rapidly and by working with WIN we are able to meet that demand and deliver a great service for our readers.
