The Windows Phone Store has seen app downloads increase by more than 100 per cent since the launch of Windows Phone 8 last October, Microsoft has announced.
Of course, without an initial figure, this number doesnt tell the whole story, but its nevertheless interesting to consider – especially next to the fact that paid app revenue has risen by 140 per cent over the same period.
Microsoft has also opened up developer payout to six new markets – Afghanistan, Iraq, Montenegro, Serbia, Timor-Leste, and Ukraine – enabling developers in these countries to submit apps, both free and paid, to the Windows Phone Store, and bringing the total number to 122.
