Wishful Thinking

Festive shoppers in Londons Covent Garden can bring their seasonal wishes to life this year, thanks to an interactive audio-visual art installation.
The Wishing Well, created by British voice-to-text company SpinVox, enables visitors to speak their wishes into their mobile and have them automatically converted to text. The wishes are then projected across the inner walls of the well in real time creating a visually stunning and inspiring flow of wishes. The arrival of each wish is announced with an array of sounds and voices which will fill Covent Gardens East Piazza with a dramatic soundscape. To leave a wish, visitors simply call 020 7818 0880, with calls charged at local rate.
The SpinVox Wishing Well is a distinctive, 7.2m high triangular structure. It opened for business on 12 December and will remain open to the public from 10am until 11pm each day until 5 January. It has been created by design and communications agency FreeState and forms part of Covent Gardens Christmas Delight, a unique programme of music and events. The publics wishes can also be viewed online here.
