WoodWing Offers Smaller-scale Tablet Publishing Solution

Digital publishing solutions company WoodWing has extended its hosted Content Delivery Service (CDS).

The new CDS Go! packages are aimed at tablet publishing start-ups, smaller publishers and agencies, says WoodWing. The companys CDS is a solution that allows publishers to manage the distribution of their content to tablet editions. The CDS Go! packages offer a new model for start-ups. Instead of a traffic-based billing (which is how WoodWings other CDS products are priced), CDS Go! lets start-up digital publishers buy a defined number of downloads.

There are two sizes of Go! package – the CDS Go! S package includes 500 downloads and costs €349 (£313) per month, while the CDS Go! M package includes 2,000 downloads and costs €599 per month. Both packages allow the purchase of additional downloads at a cost of €0.39 and €0.12 respectively.

CDS Go! packages include WoodWings Reader Pro tablet apps for all relevant tablet platforms supporting in-app purchasing, and Apples subscriptions on the iPad.

Hans Janssen, CEO of WoodWing, says: “Every two seconds, a publication is downloaded to a tablet using this service. We have been able to create a worldwide distribution network that delivers the best possible download performance. Adding CDS Go! to the portfolio enables every organisation, small and large, to make use of this infrastructure.”
