WPP Takes a Stake in Muzy

WPP has taken a stake in Muzy, a mobile-focused photo microblogging service.

WPPs statement on the investment – the exact amount remains undisclosed – describes Muzy as being an early-stage company, but it already has over 20m users globally. The services userbase is apparently growing by more than 1m each month.

On mobile, Muzy offers a sort of a swiss-army knife photo editing app for iOS. Users can pull pictures from Facebook, the phones camera roll, or the internet and add effects and frames or create collages out of them, and then share them on Facebook and Instagram.

Muzy, which was founded in 2011 and currently employs less than 10 people, intends to use the funding to scale its engineering team.
