Full service mobile solutions provider YOC been appointed by publisher CBS Interactive to design, build and manage a mobile internet site for silicon.com, the online publication for senior IT and business decision makers.
The newly launched mobile site will enable readers to stay up to date with breaking news, analysis and comment from the silicon.com site. The mobile site is rendered for each individual handset so that users can benefit from a seamless and intuitive mobile browsing experience.
“Many of our readers are using their smartphones to keep up to date with the latest news, but some of these mobile offerings can be too difficult to read. Weve set out to make using our mobile site as easy and straightforward as using the full silicon.com site,” says silicon.com editor, Steve Ranger. “Harnessing YOC’s expertise in the publishing sector means that we can not only introduce a new channel to complement our online presence but can also create additional revenue opportunities through new advertising inventory.”
YOK UK managing director Oli Roxburgh adds that CBS Interactive’s move into mobile is a further sign that companies are now recognizing that mobile should form “a fundamental part of an integrated digital strategy going forward”.
