YouTube is dramatically expanding its paid subscription services YouTube Music and YouTube Premium, opening them up to everyone in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and South Korea, and adding 12 new countries to the list.

The services, which function as YouTubes streaming music service and its exclusive content service respectively, will now be available in Austria, Canada, Finland, Frnace, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

YouTube Music is a streaming service built on top of all the music that already exists on YouTube, and provides subscribers with a number of unique features in a standalone app, including personalised recommendations, ad-free listening, curated playlists and download capabilities.

YouTube Premium (formerly YouTube Red) encompasses YouTube Music while also offering subscribers an ad-free experience across the entire video platform, downloadable content and background playing on mobile devices. It also includes the full slate of YouTube Originals shows and movies, including Impulse, The Sidemen Show, F2 Finding Football and Cobra Kai, considered the platforms first breakaway hit.

Those in the US, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico who already subscribe to YouTube Red and Google Play Music will automatically receive access to YouTube Premium at their current price, while Google Play Music subscribers in all countries will gain access to YouTube Music once it becomes available in their region.
