Mobile payment and data insights firm Zapper has created its own Bluetooth beacon system, dubbed Z-Beacon, which is being deployed in over 1,000 restaurants and bars across the UK, including its partner restaurant chain CAU.
The system empowers businesses to communicate directly with both their customers and other Zapper users via their mobile, either within their venue or within a local radius. The Z-Beacon system can perform multiple tasks, including sending messages and alerts to nearby users, delivering bespoke offers to customers, and notify staff when customers arrive for personalised introductions.
“Zappers revolutionary Z-Beacon technology is visibly disrupting the dining industry as venues relish the ability to instantly communicate with customers via mobile,” said James Sykes-Hagen, director of business development at Zapper UK. “With many of our partnered venues already enjoying the benefits, this is the ideal tool to directly engage with current customers and attract new ones.”
Among the restaurants deploying the technology is the CAU brand, which has been partnered with Zapper for over a year, and has installed beacons in its 17 restaurants across the UK, aimed at engaging with both existing customers and new visitors.
“At CAU, we believe in fresh ingredients, relaxed but efficient service and a fun environment. Zapper is great as it complements our beliefs whilst simply speeding up payment at the end of the meal,” said Charley Springall, head of marketing at CAU. “More importantly, our customers have embraced the app – so much so, we have rolled out the Zapper solution, and its Z-Beacon technology, to all 17 UK sites.”
