Zeemote, which makes intelligent wireless controllers for mobile devices, has announced a partnership with handset maker Sony Ericsson to bring near-console game play to the W760i mobile handset. Sony Ericsson is to launch the Zeemote JS1 Controller featuring Bluetooth technology with an exclusive promotion throughout hundreds of retail outlets across the Netherlands.
The Zeemote JS1 Controller will be offered free to consumers who buy Sony Ericssons new W760i Walkman 3G handset via a mail-in voucher promotion across the Netherlands, from 8 August to 31 October, 2008. The W760i will come with two embedded Zeemote Ready games, with a further 14 games available through the Fun & Downloads section on the Sony Ericsson Netherlands website. Weighing in at just 47g, the Zeemote JS1 Controller features a thumbstick and four assignable trigger buttons, enabling users to engage with mobile games.
Sony Ericsson prides itself on bringing intuitive technologies to its customers, says Max Van Den Berg, General Manager at Sony Ericsson Benelux. We recently announced the motion gaming F305, and were delighted to be giving our Netherlands customers the opportunity to be the first to own an award-winning Zeemote JS1 controller. Adding a new dimension, such as controllers for mobile gaming, gives us and our customers a competitive edge.
