ZTE to Pre-Load Skate with Kineto WiFi Solution

Mobile WiFi company Kineto Wireless has announced that it is working with ZTE to pre-load devices with its Smart WiFi application. The app will appear on select new Android ZTE smartphones.

The first ZTE Android smartphone with the application built-in will be the Skate. Kineto says it is working closely with ZTE and a number of leading smartphone manufacturers to implement to app.

“ZTEs device strategy has always had our operator customers and their subscribers at the heart of it, and their requirements and requests drive our product development decisions,” says Wu Sa, director of mobile device operations, ZTE UK. “Devices such as the ZTE Skate are proving very popular with both operators and consumers, and were happy to be working with Kineto to integrate Smart WiFi into devices for carriers that want to take advantage of the benefits of UMA.”

With Smart WiFi, mobile service providers are able to offer their subscribers improved indoor coverage using their existing WiFi access points, encouraging the use of WiFi and driving mobile data offload, says ZTE. Orange UKs Signal Boost and T-Mobiles (US) Wi-Fi Calling service is based on Kinetos technology.

Smart WiFi is continuing to win support from operators, smartphone manufacturers and consumers,” says Mark Powell, vice president and co-founder of Kineto Wireless. “The addition of ZTE to our stable of device partners is a testament to the fact that operators and subscribers are demanding Smart WiFi capabilities. ZTE is one of the fastest growing of the smartphone manufacturers, and so we are excited to have Smart WiFi pre-loaded on the Skate.”
