Lenovo has unveiled its IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC, a Windows 8-powered multi-touch, multi-user device that resembles nothing more than a gigantic 27” tablet.
But thats more or less where the similarities end, as the Horizon isnt really a mobile device. Its designed for use in the home, and is far too big to be carried around – but neverthless, its an interesting vision of where connected devices might go next.
The device, which will use Lenovos own App Shop, will launch in early summer, with prices starting at around $1,699.
Lenovo has also been demonstrating a 39” widescreen table PC, a concept device currently codenamed Gamma. 
“Weve seen technology shifts across the four screens, from the desktop to the laptop, tablet and smartphone, and yet, while people have more computing power than ever before, there is still room for technologies like Horizon that bring people together,” said Peter Hortensius, president, Product Group, Lenovo. “Horizon reflects our commitment to delivering the innovative products that define the PC-plus era.”
The devices are reminiscent of the first Microsoft device to bear the Surface name – its touch table, launched back in 2008, which has since been rebranded PixelSense. At the time, it never really took off, but could there be more room for Lenovos device of in a world where users are more accustomed to a range of screen sizes?
