15m Users for Rebtel

Mobile VoIP company Rebtel has hit 15m users worldwide, with a total 500m calls made since its launch in 2006. Rebtel’s revenues increased by more than 55 per cent in 2011, to hit $60m, and an average revenue per user (ARPU) of around $24, which the company says is three times higher than market leader Skype.

“2011 was a great year for us,” says Andreas Bernström, CEO at Rebtel. “Our new set of international calling apps, with KeepTalking technology, were well received – we generated 13 times as many downloads in Q4 than Q3 as a result of the launch. 2012 will be more of the same. We are focused on growing our user base, we aim to add up to 10m to our user base this year, as well as maintaining high revenue run rates and ensuring our apps are viral as they can be.”
