App recommendation platform youAPPi has closed a $1m seed round of funding from private investors.

youAPPi’s smartAPP technology – which supports iOS, Android and Windows Phone, as well as the mobile web – analyses what apps users have previously downloaded, what content they are currently engaged with and their preferences in order to suggest apps theyre likely to want. youAPPi is launching on app monetisation and engagement platform Tappible.

“Right now, there is no easy and effective solution for app developers to promote their apps and gain loyal users,” said Moshe Vaknin, CEO & co-founder, youAPPi.  “Based on feedback from partners and our own internal test, we believe that youAPPi solves the app distribution challenges for all players in the app ecosystem – users, publishers and app developers.”

The smartAPP technology was tested with an iOS recommendation app, which saw 30 per cent of its 12,100 users download one or more of the apps recommended to them.
