Telecoms firm aql has chosen Data Select as a mobile hardware partner, as part of its relationship with UK mobile operator 3.
Following over a year of design and engineering, aql recently unbundled the 3 network, selling wholesale minutes and data access into the network. aql is an MVNE (MVNO-Enabler) for 3. It can build virtual networks and brands on the 3 network and allow a rapid and competitive route to market for new mobile entrants.
3 are actively looking for new MVNO channels and aql is building up a one-stop fulfilment solution for specialist business comms providers, says 3s Head of MVNO, David York.
With many channel partners in the fixed line industry, including many of the UKs IP telephony operators, aql intends to mobilise existing telephony offerings. In order to do that, aql needed to identify a reliable, robust supplier for handsets and mobile hardware such as broadband dongles, and has chosen Data Select for this role.
“Its an exciting time for us, says aql Managing Director, Adam Beaumont. Were actively creating a new market for the fixed line operators and providing innovative services, such as call recording, landline numbers and centrex all on a mobile platform and available to resellers and partners under their own brand.
Aql has created an array of wholesale resources, including a national network and also over 12 million landline numbers (covering every UK area code) for its channel to choose from. These numbers can be overlaid on the aql wholesale mobile service and provisioned instantly.
