blippar has updated its augmented reality app to offer social sharing, location-based image search for popular blipps and a range of back-end tech improvements.
Users can now log in to Facebook and Twitter in-app, giving them ability to like and share blipped images. They can also discover live and trending blipps via the in-app catalogue, as well as finding images that have been blipped nearby.
The app, already used by 3m people across Android iOS and Blackberry 10, is now identical across different platforms and will launch on Windows Phone in this quarter.
Further back-end changes include faster load times and auto-rotation, as well as improved swipe gesture controls and accelerometer capabilities.
