Social media analytics company Klout has acquired Blockboard, developer of an local bulletin board app. Klout scrapes social data from sites such as Twitter and Facebook, measuring the size of a persons network, what content theyve created and how its interacted with by others, to decide how influential they are.
“With their experience, Blockboard brings an awareness of how social media can be meaningfully woven into the fabric of a local community, as well as a killer mobile app development team,” says Klout founder and CEO Joe Fernandez. “Integrating the Blockboard team, technology and expertise is a significant investment into enriching the local and mobile experience for our passionate users, and will be an incredible boost for all of us.”
The acquisition, Klouts first, will bring the entire Blockboard staff to the company.
