envIO networks has revealed that its Chorus application is now Available In 90 new countries worldwide. With over 130,000 iPhone apps available, Chorus is designed to help users cut through the clutter by tapping into the people they trust most – their friends. It enables users to connect with friends to see the apps they're using, which apps they rate highly, and to stay up-to-date on the hottest new apps available. Initially launched in the US, the app is now being made available in 90 additional countries worldwide.
Chorus users have collectively spent tens of thousands of hours using the service, with over a third of the users rating, reviewing, recommending, and downloading. Users download an average of three apps per month. Chorus has also focused on growing its community, and on establishing an environment where consumers can exchange honest opinions about apps. To date, users have invited over 600,000 friends to join Chorus.
Chorus features real-time feeds from designated friends, displaying the top apps they are downloading, and what users are saying about them. Users save time and money by viewing what friends bought, and what they think about them, before buying or downloading. While nearly 80% of apps that Chorus users own are free, Chorus users have spent over $1 million on apps.
In addition to recommendations from friends, Chorus aggregates opinions of leading experts via its AppMavens service. Chorus users are automatically connected to selected AppMavens. Chorus features AppMavens' reviews and ratings from trusted app reviewers from leading review sites to simplify the process of app discovery.
The Chorus international launch features new upgrades from the initial version launched in the US, including improved user controls for sharing on Chorus, Facebook and Twitter; AppPicker, which helps users with more accurate initial recommendations; and the ablity for users to turn off anonymity and expose their individuality to the Chorus community.
Weve received numerous requests from Chorus fans in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Australia,” says envIO networks CEO, Manish Jha. Chorus users invite their friends and are active and engaged, helping shape a whole new community around shared discovery.
Chorus uses envIO's proprietary Social Genome technology to match apps users and their friends use to make highly relevant and personalized recommendations. Chorus also enables users to share favourite apps through social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
Chorus is free to download from the Apple App Store.
