CODA Player Brings Digital Signage to iOS

Online content service CODA has launched an iOS player app. Users of the online service, which allows users to run media channels across a range of connected screens, can now broadcast to iOS devices with the CODA Player app installed.

The aim of CODA, which is run by digital signage company Camvine, is to give businesses, schools, retailers and media networks to run their own information channels. Videos, images, presentations, charts and other content can be scheduled alongside live information from the internet and other sources to display on screens anywhere in the world, says the company.

The CODA Player app offers a slimmed-down version of the full CODA experience, and the company says this is down to limits built into the iOS platform. However, CODA Player for iOS can still display a wide variety of content types, including calendars, apps, Flash, images, PDFs, photocasts, PowerPoint presentations, SignWriter digital signs, videos, and web pages.

“The new CODA Player app will give our existing customers a highly useful demonstrator of CODA, whilst its availability on the ubiquitous iOS platform provides new opportunities to deliver services,” says Steve Hales, head of sales and marketing at Camvine. “For those using CODA for the first time, it gives a real taste of the CODA digital signage experience – not only the ease with which users can display a rich variety of live, personalised content, but also the straightforward nature of the content management system.”
