Comet has become the first major UK retailer to launch a cross-platform interactive shopping app, the company claims. The app, created by Grapple Mobile, enables users to scan barcodes to access full product specifications, as well as 15,000 reviews from consumers and publications including T3, What HiFi, and more. The barcodes can be scanned in any store, allowing customers to compare competitors prices against Comets.
Bill Moir, head of marketing at Comet, says: “This new app will enable a unique multi-channel, interactive shopping experience to Comet customers, whether they are in store or indeed anywhere else. This is one of a series of steps we are taking to ensure we are offering our customers the very best possible shopping experience. With access to extensive content available on the web, we are confident that this will transform the way people will buy electricals.”
The app is available on iOS, Android and BlackBerry devices.
