CommonTime Unveils mDesign Studio

CommonTime has announced the launch of its mobile application design environment, mDesign Studio. The company has been designing and developing applications to mobilize business processes for over 15 years. It says this latest release simplifies the application development process, allowing business process mangers to design and deploy applications for mobile devices quickly and easily. mDesign Studio allows for the development of mobile applications to meet any business process requirement.
Mobile devices are becoming increasingly commonplace in organizations and the approach of utilizing them is evolving, says CommonTime CEO, Ian Knight. Businesses are recognizing that effectively mobilizing multiple business processes is central to success of their mobility strategy. mDesign Studio is the perfect tool for organizations with multiple application requirements. It provides a simple way of developing business applications in house without the need for programming skills, putting the power to create applications in the hands of those that best understand the business process.
CommonTime mDesign Studio uses a drag and drop interface for users to design, develop and customize applications. Once complete, applications can be deployed directly to mobile devices. The design environment works with multiple device  platforms. The first release is compatible with Windows Mobile and the firm is currently testing compatibility with iPhone OS, Android, Palm webOS and BlackBerry. With mDesign Studio, applications will only need to be developed once for all platforms, cutting down development times and enabling faster deployment, says Knight.
mDesign Studio adds a new option to CommonTimes current mobile application offerings. In addition to mDesign Studio, CommonTime provide a wide variety of off the shelf applications, a number of customizable application templates and bespoke application development services.
mDesign Studio is part of CommonTimes Mobile Enterprise Application Platform (MEAP), which provides a complete enterprise mobility solution for the Windows Mobile workforce.
In addition to mDesign Studion, CommonTime MEAP also includes mSuite, a full device management platform for Windows Mobile, Symbian S60 3rd and 5th editions, iPhone OS, webOS and Android; Mobile Email – corporate and individual user mobile email solutions for Lotus Notes; and mSupport – a remote support solution for Windows Mobile, Symbian S60 and BlackBerry.
