Conference Looks at Mobile Web 2.0

Informa Telecoms & Media is staging a 2-day event, Mobile Web 2.0, in London, on 18 19 September. The company says the event will be the first meeting place for those across the web and mobile worlds who appreciate the opportunity offered by cross platform 2.0 services. The full scope of the Mobile Web 2.0 opportunity is only emerging, says Informa. The mobile device is both highly personalised and highly accessible. We carry our phones with us all the time, and 72% of mobile users do not even share their mobile with their spouse. Given users relationships with the mobile device, the potential for leveraging the features of mobility and the handset to create a complete 2.0 experience are tremendous.
So far 14 international media, web and mobile companies and seven Mobile Web 2.0 enterprises are confirmed to speak at the event. Confirmed speakers include Mitch Lazar, VP Business Development, Europe Yahoo!, Eric Lagier, Director of Business Development, Hardware and Mobile, at Skype, Jeff Barr, Senior Manager of Web Service Evangelism at Amazon, Mark Bole, CEO of Shozu, Russell Buckley, Managing Director of AdMob, Europe, Mike Short, VP Research and Development at O2, and Mark Curtis, CEO of Flirtomatic.
The conference will examine the impact of Mobile Web 2.0 on traditional mobile and web business models. It will showcase the services that will bring Mobile Web 2.0 to life for the mass market; discuss how user interface strategies and widgets facilitate discoverability; and explain how to determine market demand for mobile communities across global markets and demographic segments.
