Edge Invests £2m in Handmade

Entertainment and media industry fund Edge Performance VCT has invested £2m in UK-based mobile social media company Handmade Mobile Entertainment. Handmade, the company behind the popular Flirtomatic dating app, has developed a web, mobile and Tablet social media app platform – including its Take Me Out Flirting app created in partnership with Fremantle Television and ITV.

Edge investment manager David Fisher, who will join the Handmade board, says: “Handmade is making waves in one of todays most exciting new entertainment markets – mobile apps. We are impressed by the quality of the companys management and believe Flirtomatic is the first of a string of new products.”

Edge joins a syndicate of investors in Handmade, including Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures, Seraphim Capital, Nauta Capital and Oxford Capital Partners.
