Epicor Software Corporation, which provides software for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organisations, has partnered with Global Bay Mobile Technologies, which provides next-generation mobile retail software, to provide retailers running Epicor software solutions with a comprehensive suite of mobile retail applications.

Epicor and Global Bay have previously worked together on collaborative mobile implementations with retailers of all sizes. Under this newly formalised go-to-market relationship, the two companies will collaborate to strengthen and expedite project and product cooperation on mobile deployments, with Epicor reselling Global Bays mobile applications to customers running heritage Epicor store solutions.

Global Bays GBmobile retail applications support retailers running heritage Epicor apps for mobile point of sale (mPOS), mobile inventory management, and CRM modules. The in-store mobile app suite enables retailers to leverage their current Epicor technology investment to deliver improved information and offer an inspiring customer experience. Global Bays mobile apps support mobile devices running on iOS and Windows Mobile operating systems, as well as other, “untethered” mobile computing platforms, such as kiosks.

Epicor notes that retailers are increasingly seeking mobile solutions to create a better overall shopping experience, and says that the availability of easy-to-use and cost-effective devices, combined with increasingly tech-savvy in-store sales staff, is propelling mobile solutions to the top of a retailers must-have list. The Epicor/Global Bay partnership offers retailers running older generations of Epicor store solutions the ability to leverage new and emerging technology to effectively extend and manage their business in real-time, providing demonstrable return on investment and enhancing the shopping experience.
