Google is shutting down its standalone Google Shopper app as of 30 August.
With 57 per cent of people using mobile devices to help them shop, according to Google research, this doesnt look like a sign that the service wasnt being used, but rather an attempt by the company to streamline its offering. 
The product will be folded into general search, where most of the functionality is already available.
