Netbiscuits and Reading Room have released the result of their 48-hour hackathon project for Mens Health Week – iWee.
The mobile web app, launched by UK cancer charity Prostate Action, helps men to monitor their urinary health, in order to assist early diagnosis of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). The digital bladder diary can be filled out from mobile devices, and the collated results emailed to be shared with a doctor.
“For all the men out there suffering in silence as a result of problems peeing, Prostate Action has a message for you: there’s an app for that,” said men’s health expert Dr Jon Rees, speaking on behalf of the charity. “iWee gives men an easy, user-friendly way to record urinary symptoms they’re experiencing, and gives them a printout they can share with their doctor to help build a picture of their health.”
