Mobile content firm Infomedia has launched the official Tekkers iPhone app. Featuring the voice of Andy Ansah and over 100 different Tekkers soundbites, the app lets users create their own Tekkers tone and has Andy delivering the verdict on stars like Ronaldo, Torres, Kaka, Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney.
The word “Tekkers”, which is urban slang for “technique” was popularised on Sky’s Soccer AM programme by Andy Ansah from Wayne Rooney’s Street Striker. The app enables users to create their own personalised Tekkers sounds, which will be made available as text alert tones across operators in the UK. 
“Some Tekkers are good, some Tekkers are bad, and some Tekkers are unbelievable,” says Ansah. “But good, bad, unbelievable or indifferent, you have to be there to see them, and with this new app, football fans can do just that, all the way through the World Cup.”
