GE Money Bank and i-Free, the Russian provider of mobile value added services, have announced the successful completion of their joint pilot project in mobile marketing, employing the resources of i-Frees community-based Jamango service package. The idea behind the Credit Kiosk project was to find out what Jamango can do in mobile marketing.
Jamango is a community-based service currently listing over 3 million subscribers in Russia and beyond. It unites the most sought-after mobile services available via mobile or the Internet. The Jamango interface is a colourful map of a tropical island, on which every object represents a mobile service.
Jamangos user community and technical resources offer attractive marketing opportunities for promoting all sorts of products and services. i-Free has already completed a number of marketing projects in partnership with major mobile equipment vendors, including Samsung Electronics, and a number of FMCG brands.
As part of its effort to discover new marketing opportunities with the help of Jamango, i-Free teamed up with PR agency SeveroMedia, and GE Money Bank in June and July 2007 to design and test-drive a new service option, titled Credit Kiosk, at the Jamango portal.
With the Credit Kiosk service, every Jamango subscriber could instantly file a consumer loan or credit card request by activating a designated link to information about the bank and its loan or credit card terms. Once the loan or credit card was confirmed, Credit Kiosk software generated a message with the subscribers details, and sent it to GE Money Bank. A bank employee would then call the subscriber to let them know when their loan or credit card would be ready for pickup.
This was a great way to test mobile communication lines, including WAP, and we are very satisfied with the results,” says Valeriy Popov, Internet Project Director at GE Money Bank. We saw some hard evidence of the huge marketing potential and opportunities of popular WAP resources.”
Victoria Podunova, who oversees bank-related business at i-Free, adds:
GE Money Bank has always been keen on innovation and among the first to pilot new technology. We are thankful to GE Money Bank for making us part of this unusual project, which once again demonstrated Jamangos powerful potential in mobile marketing.”
