Looks like the date for the official launch of the iPhone 5 is less than a week away, after Apple issued one of its typically cryptic media invites to an event on 4 October at its Cupertino HQ.
The invitation was titled: ‘Let’s talk iPhone’, and Apple enthusiasts who follow these things more closely than is probably good for their health are suggesting that the device is likely to be NFC-enabled to enable it to interact with smart posters, and of course, mobile payment services. 
Rumours also abound that Apple will use the event to unveil a ‘Nano’ version of the iPhone 4. But Apple being Apple, all bets are off until new chief exec Tim Cook (most likely), takes to the stage at 10am Pacific Time next Tuesday to make the announcements. Just don’t mention the word ‘Antennagate’.
