Line Buys MixRadio

MixRadio_Image2Free call and messaging app LINE is to buy MixRadio, the free personal music streaming service that Microsoft inherited when it bought Nokia.

MixRadio offers a personalised, mobile-optimized music streaming service to millions of listeners across 31 countries. MixRadio is currently available as a free service on Lumia smartphones, though it has no iOS or Android offering as yet.

“LINE has been ceaselessly evolving to become the world’s leading mobile life platform,” said Line chief globalisation officer, Jung-ho Shin. “I am confident that MixRadio provides an outstanding music service, which is an important component of consumers’ life. I also believe that LINE’s global footprints will further enable MixRadio to bring endless pleasure to them.”
