Mag+ has released version 3.5 of its digital publishing platform, which enables publishers to adapt InDesign files into mobile-friendly magazines. The update brings improved support for a range of analytics providers, and the ability to automatically translate designs between platforms – including iPad, iPhone, Kindle Fire, and Android devices – and tweak it for that device without having to start from scratch.
“The latest enhancements to the platform serve to help maintain the rapid growth in the mobile digital publishing industry on two fronts,” says Mag+ CEO Gregg Hano. “By making it easy to optimise for several devices, we help publishers justify creating more digital content and experimenting with multiple platforms. By improving analytics, we’re giving them the ability to learn from that experimentation, refine their offerings, and collect the data that will help bring more advertisers on board.”
The platform has also seen its first iPhone publications, in Swedens Icon magazine and the British Journal of Photography.
Mag+ also announced the winner of its Magnify your World app design contest – Scrawl, a platform for independent illustrators, which is the first publication to utilise Mag+s tilt feature.
