The Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF) has teamed up with law firm SNR Denton to explain PhonepayPluss new code of practice. The partnership has produced a how-to guide for UK companies involved in the PRS sector, titled Explanatory Guide to the New Code.
As previously reported, PhonepayPlus – the UK regulator of Premium Rate Services in telecoms – published its new code of practice in March. The organisation says it has designed the new code to take advantage of digital technology, including social networking and smartphone apps. For the first time, PhonepayPlus will directly regulate every part of the PRS value-chain.
The new code comes into force on 1 September. MEF says its Explanatory Guide to the New Code will support its members as they adjust to the regulations.
The MEF says in a statement: “Members involved in providing PRS need to familiarise themselves with the new provisions and make all preparations necessary to ensure that their services are compliant from 1 September 2011 onwards. To support our members through this process, MEF has worked with Alex Haffner from law firm SNR Denton to produce A practical guide to the 12th code, which is available for MEF members to download for free.”
MEF members can download the guide here.
