Mobile ad network Millennial Media has announced its expansion into the Southeast Asia region, and has hired an MD to take control of its operations there.
Robery Woolfrey has joined the company to lead the companys operations in Southeast Asia, including establishing a presence and hiring a team.
Woolfrey has more than six years of experience running advertising and technology-based operations in Southeast Asia, according to Millennial. “Millennial Media is the leading independent mobile advertising platform in the United States and Europe; and will now bring that same premium strategy to Southeast Asia,” says Woolfrey. “Gartner forecasts that the mobile advertising industry in Asia Pacific will grow from $1.6bn to $6.9bn in 2015, and Millennial will be in the prime position to capitalise on that growth with our premium offering for brands and agencies.”
Woofreys role will focus on extending the companys in-market brand and agency sales, investing in people and increasing mobile advertising and monetisation education and results in the region. Woolfrey will also represent Millennial Media on the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA)s Asia Pacific Board of Directors.
“Millennial Media brings a reputation for quickly generating scale, and delivering strong results for clients when entering new markets,” says Paul Palmieri, the companys president and CEO. “We are excited to apply that expertise as we deploy premium solutions at the high end of the mobile ad market in Southeast Asia.”
