Misfit Unveils Specter Smart Headphones and Ray Tracker

Misfit Ray SpecterWearables firm Misfit, which was acquired for $260m last year by watchmaker Fossil, has unveiled a pair of smart headphones as well as its latest activity tracker at CES.

The Misfit Ray fitness and sleep monitor, to give the latter device its full name, has a cylindrical aluminum body designed to complement watches, bracelets, and fine jewellery, with a three-axis accelerometer inside. For user feedback, it relies on a single multi-colour LED light and a vibration motor which can be used for text and call notifications. It can also be used in conjunction with Misfit Link as a smart button controlling a variety of devices, from taking photos on the users smartphone to turning on a connected light.

The Ray will launch in the spring, from $99.99.

Meanwhile, Misfits Specter is billed as a pair of smart wireless in-ear headphones. As well as transmitting audio without requiring a wired connection, the Specter is capable of tracking the wearers activity and sleep, and can also be used as a button with Misfit Link.

Theres no launch date yet for the Specter, beyond simply 2016, nor any indication of price.
