Ad-funded mobile social networking service mobikade has announced that it has added Serenity to its portfolio of free Java games. Serenity is a shoot em up game based on the hit film of the same name.
mobikade was launched in the UK in April by Excite Japan, in conjunction with Global Network Solutions (GNS) Europe, the European business base for Japanese Sogo Shosha ITOCHU Corporation. It launched in the UK with 20 games, which mobikade describes as “casual games”, developed by Excite Japan. The addition of Serenity marks a move towards branded, full-scale games, according to mobikade, which says it plans to add roughly five games per month, included more branded games.
There is a difference in the tastes of Japanese and UK mobile gamers says Masatomo Hashimoto, Manager, eBusiness at GNS Europe. Japanese gamers tend to prefer light and casual flash games, where as UK gamers tend to look for titles which they have been used to playing on their game consoles. As the specification of European handsets keeps improving, we can add serious full scale games to our portfolio over the next few months.
