Mobile Social Networking Under the Spolight

Wireless World Forum is staging a Mobile SNS (Social Networking Services) and CGC (Consumer Generated Content) conference on 16 July at Le Meridien hotel, Piccadilly, London.
With the current focus on Mobile SNS and CGC, the event will examine what the future holds for SMS and MMS. Research puts the market value of Mobile SNS and CGC services at over $12 billion within 4 years, says Wireless World Forum. With only finite resources to spend on mobile services, SNS and CGC will either create or cannibalize existing messaging revenues.
It points out that MIXI in Japan claims over 6 million members, 75% of whom log in to the site over a 3-day period. Mobile messaging forms a core part of the service attraction. With MySpace, YouTube, Bebo, Wikipedia and Facebook all exploring the mobile domain, the conference will explore how messaging can be used to drive the uptake of these services and maintain operator interest, while at the same time preventing the displacement of its own market.
The event, titled: The mobile future of Consumer Generated Content and Social Networking Services is a round-table format, which promises to be low on powerpoint, high on personal interaction, knowledge share and business development opportunities. Delegates will also have the opportunity to get consumer opinion first hand from a live panel session.
Other features include a youth panel session on CGC and SNS;  On the street video surveys of mobile consumers; insights from the mobileYouth project on CGC and SNS; and case studies and  insights from key opinion formers and brands
There are four focus areas: The challenges of mobilizing Social Networking Services and CGC; Pricing strategies and business models for SNS and CGC; Case studies of online and mobile social networks and CGC; and Strategies for harnessing brand advocacy through SNS and CGC.
Invited Speakers include Adidas, BBC, Coke, Emap, MTV, Orange and Yahoo!
