NewspaperDirect Enhances PressReader App

NewspaperDirect, which specializes in multichannel newspaper and magazine content distribution and monetization, has added a number of enhancements to its free PressReader application for the iPhone and iPod touch.
With the latest version (V1.3.1) of the iPhone PressReader app, iPhone and iPod Touch users can download their favourite daily read from a selection of more than 1,400 newspapers and magazines from 90 countries in 42 languages. NewspaperDirect has also announced that it will release a dedicated version of PressReader for the Apple iPad, which offers a larger screen and a dramatically improved reading experience.
The new version enables users to navigate publications using thumbnails or tables of contents, divided by section; jump to the next page using article hyperlinks; view stories as rich graphics or text access on-demand audio; and share articles via email.
In addition, PressDisplay.com subscribers can set up automated subscriptions to automatically download their favourite titles every day; download and pay directly from online view; and search online across titles and select titles for download from the search results
The PressReader iPhone app is available as a free download from the Apple App Store. Additional titles can be bought individually for $0.99 per issue, or downloaded in conjunction with a paid subscription on PressDisplay.com. A growing list of titles is available, including The Washington Post, USA Today, The Guardian, Irish Independent, L'Equipe, Il Giornale, and De Volkskrant.
The app has been optimized for iPhone and iPod Touch, enabling users to flip through pages just as they would browse a real newspaper, and then zoom in to view any article or photograph in more detail. 
PressDisplay.com offers more than 1,400 full-content digital replicas of newspapers and magazines from 90 countries in 42 languages. PressDisplay.com and PressReader have also been optimized for Windows PCs, Macs, and other handheld e-reading devices.
