Luxury spa company Champneys Health Resorts has partnered with Oxygen8 Communications on a mobile marketing campaign.
The campaign combines competitions, promotional offers, and consumer help messages such as booking confirmations and reminders. The campaign was delivered by Oxygen8s platform.
The first phase for the campaign is a mobile phone-based competition in which mobile users enter to win a two-night mid-week break for two people at one of Champneys locations.
The company aims to start to build an opt-in community of mobile users, so that it can continue to integrate mobile into its marketing strategy. This will include campaigns targeted at customers who have visited a Champneys Town & City Spa in the past.
Sharon Scott, group PR and marketing manager at Champneys, says: “As a communication medium, the mobile phone opens up so many more possibilities for us to interact with both new and existing customers, utilising a device that is now commonplace and that people always keep to hand. We are in the age of information overload with consumers being bombarded with promotional material and in this environment email marketing and door drop campaigns are not necessarily delivering the best return on investment. In contrast, Oxygen8 have demonstrated to us that mobile campaigns can deliver response rates at around 20-25 per cent, which is exceptional.”
Scott says Champneys chose Oxygen8 based on the companys track record. “They are already running mobile campaigns for a number of leading brands on an international basis,” she says. “The mobile phone presents us with a new marketing tactic which enables very personal, timely communication with our target audience that will drive awareness and loyalty to our brand, whilst boosting revenues for the business.”
