Prostate Cancer UK has launched its Sledgehammer mobile and TV campaign to raise money for research and quickly share help and information about the disease.
The campaign is being headed by Bill Bailey and the site comes complete with a short video of him explaining the reason for it. The campaign is also running on TV, prompting viewers to search for the site and get involved.
The sites branding and layout is quite cool, while the menu functions are really easily navigable from the home screen or when you have dived into some of the other content.
One click leads you to the fundraising page and given that the prostate gland is the size of a walnut, which Bailey says we need a sledgehammer to crack, people are encouraged to text crack to 70004 to donate £5. You can also click-to-call in a donation or head to the desktop site to find more ways of giving. A click-to-call function is also in place for people suffering from the disease to contact a specialist nurse.
People can get involved by filling in a short form which asks for five bits of info and asks you to pick from three campaigning areas. The site had been built by SDL and works across smartphones and tablets.
“Mobile is becoming a bigger part of people’s lives every day, and it’s a very important channel to us,” said Sadie Crabtree, digital manager at Prostrate Cancer UK. “Thanks to SDL Mobile, we can catch people right at the moment they see our adverts and give them an easy way to get involved and help increase survival rates for men throughout the UK.”
