RIM has launched its BlackBerry PlayBook 3G+ in the UK. Its the first version of the device that has been able to connect to mobile networks, and is compatible with HSPA+ 3G connections.
The device runs on the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2, and comes with 32GB of internal storage.
Its been a long time coming, given that the wi-fi-only version came out back in June 2011. Then again, judging by the limited success of the original PlayBook, it doesnt look like many UK consumers have been holding their breath.
“The new 3G+ BlackBerry PlayBook tablet is a powerful, portable, and versatile tool that helps customers be more productive than ever and to make the most of their time on the go,” said Johnathan Young, RIM UK head of consumer & retail channels. “It includes all the connectivity a customer needs to make their work time more effective, as well as access to a wide variety of apps and multimedia content for when they want to stay entertained on the move.”
