Sales of Samsungs Galaxy S3 have passed 30m, since its launch five months ago. That means its selling three times faster than the Galaxy S2, which sold 10m units over a similar period following its launch.
The news came from Samsung Polands official Twitter account, in a tweet which has since been removed. It follows the announcement a few days ago that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 had sold 3m units, in just over a month after its launch.
The phablet device – a hybrid device somewhere between a smartphone and a tablet – sold at least three times faster than its predecessor, the first Galaxy Note. The original only shipped – not sold – 1m units in its first month, although its worth noting that it had a staggered launch, and that period was before its US launch.
And with these two device franchises firmly established, Samsung is about to launch its latest device in the Galaxy range. The Galaxy Camera is another hybrid device – combining, as the name suggests, a smartphone and fully-featured digital camera – and itll be launching in the UK on Thursday, 8 November.
